A neurosurgeon with a distinguished academic and surgical career, Mònica joins Monarka’s Neurosurgery and Pain Unit, bringing her expertise in cranial surgery, neuro-oncology and minimally invasive spine surgery, as well as in complex conditions such as brain tumours, hydrocephalus and Chiari malformation.
A subspecialist in brain tumours in eloquent areas and awake craniotomy, she is highly proficient in advanced techniques including intraoperative brain mapping and neurophysiological monitoring.
She holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona and completed her specialist training through the MIR programme at Hospital Universitario Mútua de Terrassa. She has further developed her skills at leading national and international centres, including a vascular neurosurgery observership in São Paulo and humanitarian surgical missions in Tanzania.
Her clinical approach is defined by technical precision, a multidisciplinary perspective and an exceptional ability to support patients at every stage of their journey. A regular speaker at national and international conferences and an active member of the leading neuro-oncology working groups, Mònica brings to Monarka the rigour of high-complexity surgery combined with a human, patient-centred vision — delivering effective solutions even in the most challenging cases.
