The approach

What is Humanistic Psychology?

The Humanistic Psychology offered by Montse Escobar at Monarka Clinic is a therapeutic space recognized within humanistic tradition for profound transformation, integrating body, mind, emotions, and spirit. As part of our longevity medicine framework, we understand that emotional well-being is a fundamental pillar of healthy aging.

Instead, it does not seek to correct behaviors but rather to understand the emotional, physical, and spiritual origins of what each individual experiences. As a result, every therapeutic process is a unique experience. No two people are alike, nor can any two stories be treated with the same approach. Through listening, presence, and tools such as Focusing, Integrative Constellations, and Regression Therapy, each person is guided to explore the root of their distress in order to find a solution.

A different approach

A therapy that begins the moment you ask for help

Their support stems from active listening, sensitivity, and an intuitive connection with what the person needs at any given moment.

“Therapy begins the moment someone calls seeking help. That gesture is already part of the process: by taking action, the healing process begins.”

Furthermore, a safe and present space is offered during each session, where there may be moments of deep exploration, but also moments of self-compassion and kindness.

Your therapy is built in the present moment, without imposing paths or forcing openings. Sometimes it’s a time to heal transgenerational or soul memories, other times simply to accept and navigate what is happening now. The emotional balance cultivated in therapy has direct effects on your overall well-being, including sleep quality and resilience. At the end of each session, you receive a written text outlining the points discussed so you can anchor the experience, reflect on it, or reread it whenever needed. Ultimately, you decide when you want to have another session.

Treatments

What can we treat through
Humanistic Psychology?

Thanks to Humanistic Psychology, it’s possible to find the root cause and heal any ailment. These are the main ones:

01

Anxiety

Anxiety is trying to communicate something important. It's necessary to listen to it. This feeling is often related to an internal conflict or a tendency to dwell on the future. Through communication with our bodies, we can alleviate anxiety.

02

Phobias

Phobias are intense fears that limits you. We will explore the origin of that fear through regression. When the memory that generated the phobia becomes conscious and is transformed, the phobia disappears.

03

Addictions

An addiction is a dependence on substances or activities that can be harmful. In therapy, the aim is to identify what lies behind this behavior, understand its origin, and equip the person with emotional and spiritual tools to confront it from a different perspective.

04

State of sadness

Sadness, discouragement, or a loss of meaning are addressed from the perspective of personal history and life context. We will focus on identifying the desired path and providing the tools to create the desired reality.

05

Pain

Therefore, when pain is present, taking a holistic approach is essential. Through psychological therapy, we will explore what is being expressed through the pain to identify your needs and make necessary adjustments so that the body no longer has to cope. This approach perfectly complements the specialized care offered by the Pain Unit at Monarka.

06

Emotional origin of a physical illness

The person is guided to engage with their body, understanding how sustained thoughts and emotions can manifest as physical symptoms. However, this approach does not replace medical treatment, but rather complements it from an integrative perspective.

07

Life crises

Moments of change, breakups, or grief are an opportunity to redefine who we are and what we want. Therapy offers a supportive space, guidance, and clarity during these processes, helping us find direction and take action for change.

08

Couple conflicts

It starts with shared responsibility. The couple's dynamics are analyzed, including recurring patterns and how to transform them. The key is to become aware of your own role and promote changes that strengthen the relationship.

09

Desire to have children

The desire to have children and the need to use fertility treatments can be a difficult process to manage. We offer support to improve your well-being along this path, including integrative constellations work to bring to light what may be hindering the process.

10

Difficulties in raising children

The idealized and non-complaining view of parenthood is deeply ingrained. To experience parenting in an adaptive way, it's important to be mindful and find balance without falling into guilt or excessive responsibility.

11

Links with the family of origin or created

We work on the dynamics that are repeated in family relationships —both with the family of origin and with the one created— to make them conscious, understand their root and transform them into healthier and more balanced relationships.

12

Duels

Whether due to death, separation, or loss of meaning, we accompany the pain with respect and presence, helping to navigate and integrate it, as well as to face the learning that grief always offers us.

13

Energy or emotional blockages

When life seems to be at a standstill or there's a feeling of stagnation, we explore internal blocks, unresolved memories, and emotions. We'll work to break free from limitations and expand our horizons.

14

Spiritual disconnection

Therapy also offers a glimpse into the transcendent, helping to reconnect with personal spirituality, free from dogma and rigid structures. Nurturing one's spirituality can lead to finding meaning in life and connecting with one's vocation.

We will teach you the tools so you can manage your day-to-day life from a different perspective.

To live longer, but above all, better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The principle of freedom in therapy. The idea is that each person takes responsibility for their process and can decide when the next session will be. Every process is different. It’s possible that an important issue can be resolved in a single session.

Yes. All pain has an unmanaged emotional origin. This therapy doesn’t replace medical treatment, but it can be a very valuable complement that helps us move forward. In fact, we understand emotional well-being as a fundamental pillar of longevity medicine, where the overall balance of the individual is essential.

Yes, any addiction—tobacco, food, shopping, gambling, technology, etc.—always serves a purpose; it fills a void. In therapy, we will work to identify that void, to bring it to conscious awareness, and to create the necessary change.

Yes, when there is an inability to conceive a child without a medical cause (both naturally and through assisted reproduction), in therapy we will work to find the unconscious personal or family pattern that is preventing conception.

Cognitive behavioral therapy aims to teach people to change unhelpful thought and behavior patterns. In humanistic therapy, we will seek to find the root of the distress and take steps toward the new life you wish to create and live.
